My first ever post! Smile HJ rfi 3x (33% over 47hands), CO(190bb) (no stats) 3bet 3.5x, BTN (120bb) calls (tight player), hero (320bb) on the SB with JhJc. We have 3 options - fold...NOT AN OPTION! We have 2 options - call ....(conservative) play OOP vs 2 players and very difficult to navigate 3str, easy to get bluffed down the road...we gonna miss value and opportunity to bluff as we are OOP. - 4bet.... get them to fold and take down the sweet money. They call and we play OOP BUT we the initiative...and we r deep so SPR wont be over-ruling our decisions. they 5bet and we have a decision again.... So 4bet seems like the best option! So....I did call :/ (first mistake) We go to the flop the 3bettor, BTN and hero SB. ** Dealing Flop ** [ 6d, 8c, Kh ] my thoughts on the flop... Obviously I can be beat so Im planing to fold to a bet by the HJ as he is gonna be betting into 2 players with very strong ranges. I expect him to bet nothing less than AK... He could maybe check KK but I see that happening only by a fish. I dont think he is cbeting bluffs here. If he checks and BTN bets again...I have to fold. I will be sandwiched so...dont see how I can make money by calling. HERO checks HJ (JPGPR) checks BTN (DRUGKillerr) checks I am a bit happy that noone bet. I could be ahead but I could also be behind. I a situation of mutual fear people become defensive so I could see BTN having smth like KQs and pot controling here.. So I am planing to check on all Turn and see how it goes. I dont want to bet get a call...and then river what? If I bet turn and get called...I could be ahead or behing but im OOP and cant really bet river...so I have to check...so my bet will look more as a bluff and not s thin value... IMO that opens the door for bluffs from villain. I odnt want to get bluffed off my SDV. So I decided to check on the Turn on any card. ** Dealing Turn ** [ 3s ] Hero checks JPGPR checks DRUGKillerr checks Now Im pretty sure that I am ahead. So I should be planing to put a value bet on most rivers. Should I be betting any river but an A? *I think so... What should the size be? *1/2-3/4 to get called by a PP... ** Dealing River ** [ 6s ] and after all my reasoning...I decided to pussy out and check :/ Hero checks JPGPR will be using their time bank for this hand. JPGPR checks DRUGKillerr checks How much value did I lose? Hero shows [ Jh, Jc ]two pairs, Jacks and Sixes. JPGPR doesn't show [ Js, Ac ]a pair of Sixes. DRUGKillerr doesn't show [ 9c, 9d ]two pairs, Nines and Sixes. BatmanStyle wins $8.36 USD from the main pot with two pairs, Jacks and Sixes. After session analysis: preflop ranges. HJ 3bettor: TT+,AJs+,A5s,KQs,76s,65s,54s,AJo+ BTN caller: QQ-88,AQs-ATs,KQs,QJs,AQo+ Hero Q: How do I choose my 4bet value hands? Do I run their ranges vs the hands I want to continue with? and.... 4bet for value the hands that are ahead in equity? call hand that have good play-ability as we are deep and 4 bet bluff hand that are behind in equity but have good blockers? If that is the correct approach then according to the ranges I gave them. - JJ+ AK are ahead.... TT are somewhere in the line depending the ranges I give them. So...I guess we have 0 calling range here, however I didnt want to 4bet fold JJ vs AKs(eg. some fish love their AKs...me too! Smile ) So if I have 40combos of value here... AA, KK, QQ, JJ, AK I should have some bluffs... Should I be using AQ here as a bluff? Is it enough? I appreciate your answers!
